We’re balloting for strike action…
Following receipt of the full and final offer of 3.3% for council and school workers in England, Cymru, and Northern Ireland, UNISON’s committee of leading activists have decided to ballot members for strike action.
As we are still on local pay arrangements in Surrey, but mirroring the national pay award, we are balloting all our members alongside those on the NJC.
We believe you deserve fairer pay!
You will have already received the initial pay increase of 3.3% – this ballot is about whether you are prepared to join the national fight for a higher pay award.
This is an INDICATIVE electronic ballot. You will not get a paper vote as described in UNISON National mailings.
If this vote is successful we are obliged under current UK legislation to conduct another paper ballot – We will notify you if you need to vote again.
All SCC members will have received a unique link to their preferred email address.

The ballot will run from 9 July until 6 August.
UNISON are recommending that members:
REJECT the pay offer and VOTE YES for strike action.
