Disabled members face barriers to accessibility and discrimination in their workplaces. We remain committed to making the county accessible and inclusive for all disabled people.
Disabled members can face discrimination in the workplace based on their disabilities, and UNISON remains committed to ensuring that these members are fairly represented. We campaign to ensure that there are no barriers to accessing the workplace, to ensure that everyone is able to live and work freely.
The work of our Disabled Members officer has meant that a disabled people’s group has been set up within the County Council, and that equality and accessibility remains at the top of the agenda
Our branch is committed to campaigning on these issues, and working to support the disabled people in our county. If you feel passionately about disabled people’s issues, or if you feel that you have been affected by an issue, please get in contact with us.
